Noah (“we,” “our,” or “us”) makes a Bible app for iPhone and iPad. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Noah app and this website (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
At a glance
- No ads. We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
- Your Screen Time app selections and earned-time balance never leave your device.
- Your notes, highlights, conversations, and creations are stored on your device unless you turn on sync.
- We don’t use your content to train AI models.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings in the app.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your account identifier and, where you allow it, your name, email address, and profile photo. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we receive only the relay address.
Onboarding preferences
If you answer the optional onboarding questions, we store your age range, denomination, reading preference, and reasons for using Noah, so we can tailor your experience.
Purchases and credits
We receive your subscription status, plan, and transaction identifiers from Apple through our subscription provider. We keep a record of your credit balance and how credits were granted and spent. We never receive your payment card details.
AI requests
When you use AI features, we process what you send: chat messages, the passage you have selected, prompts and style choices for images, video, or songs, and spoken audio during Live voice conversations. For media generation we keep a job record (passage reference, prompt, style, status, and a link to the finished file) to deliver your creation, meter credits, and recover failed jobs. We also keep usage records (which feature, model, and how many credits were used) for billing and abuse prevention.
Synced data (optional)
If sync is available on your plan and you turn it on, we store your notes, highlights, bookmarks, reading progress, and settings so they can follow you across devices.
Usage and diagnostics
- Product analytics: which screens and features are used, linked to an internal account identifier (not your email), along with your plan and app version.
- Crash and performance reports: stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, and the recent app events that led to an error. We avoid recording prayer text, chat content, or speech transcripts in these reports.
What stays on your device
Much of Noah works offline. The following is stored on your iPhone or iPad and is not sent to our servers:
- Screen Time: the apps and categories you choose to pause, your shield settings, and your earned-time balance. Apple gives Noah anonymous tokens rather than app names, so we can’t see which apps you selected.
- Your study: notes, highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress, unless you turn on sync.
- Conversations: your chat history with the assistant.
- Your gallery: finished images, videos, and songs, and any Bibles you import as EPUB files.
- Kid mode PIN and Home Screen widget content.
When you share media with another person as a .noah-media file, it travels directly between your devices through the share method you pick. We don’t store a copy.
Device permissions
Noah asks for permission before using these features, and you can change your choices in iOS Settings at any time:
- Screen Time (Family Controls): to pause the apps you choose until you’ve read.
- Microphone and speech recognition: for dictation and Live voice conversations. Dictation uses Apple’s speech recognition. Live voice streams audio to our AI provider for the duration of the conversation.
- Notifications: for reading reminders and narration controls.
- Photos: to save creations to your library or add images from it.

AI features
To answer questions and create media, we send the minimum needed (your message or prompt, the selected passage, and relevant app context) to the AI providers listed below. They process it to produce the result and return it to you.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
- AI output can be inaccurate. Always check answers against Scripture.
- If you add your own AI provider API key, it is stored encrypted on our servers and used only for your requests.
Service providers
We share information with trusted providers who process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it, and only as needed to run the Service:
| Category | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, Screen Time, speech recognition |
| Google Sign-In, if you choose it | |
| Authentication and database providers | Signing you in and storing account data |

| AI model providers | Chat, Live voice, images, video, and songs you request |

You can request a current list of our service providers by emailing [email protected].
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers. Row-level security means each account can reach only its own records, and API keys you add are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. This permanently removes your account and associated server data, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons, such as purchase history. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Crash reports and analytics events are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and California’s CCPA/CPRA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can view and update your profile in the app and delete your account in Settings. For anything else, email us. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, analytics, and improvement), your consent (optional permissions), and legal obligations.
Children and families
Noah is intended for users 13 and older, or younger users with a parent’s permission and supervision. Kid mode, protected by a parent PIN, limits features and keeps creation family-friendly. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has given us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
