How Noah works

Put the Bible before screen time

The first tap toward a distracting app can become a reason to open Scripture. Noah helps you make the reading choice easier to repeat.

The short answer

With Noah’s Read or Create plan, you choose apps to pause using Apple’s Screen Time picker. Read the Bible in Noah to earn time for those apps, then spend that time when you choose. Bible reading itself stays free.

The read-to-earn loop

  1. Choose your distractions. Select the apps you want Noah to pause. Apple’s picker gives Noah anonymous tokens, not the names of the apps you selected.
  2. Read in Noah. Read a chapter, follow a plan, use the Visual Reader, or listen to narration. Qualifying reading time adds to your balance.
  3. Use the time you earned. Your reading banks screen time you can spend later. Meeting your weekly reading goal can increase the multiplier.

Why put reading in the path?

Many phone checks start automatically. A boundary gives you a moment to notice what you are doing, while a prepared reading option gives that moment somewhere to go. Noah puts the Bible on the same device, so the next step is close at hand.

Reading is more than a way to unlock another app. You can stay in the text, keep going in a plan, ask a question about the passage, or pause on a page in the Visual Reader. The aim is to make time with Scripture a habit you choose again tomorrow.

Start small and keep it honest

Pick one time of day when you often open a feed without thinking. Choose a short Bible passage in advance. Read it at a pace that lets you understand it. If a verse raises a question, read the paragraph around it before moving on.

You can begin without blocking anything: Noah’s free plan includes the whole Bible, the text Visual Reader, and other ways to start reading. The Read and Create plans add the app blocking and earned-time tools.
